Meet the Cohort: Founded In Philly Series II 2021
From our accelerator participants to our PSL Connect community members, we want to amplify the stories of founders who are emerging and growing in Philadelphia. Learn more about our 2021 Founded in Philly MVP-Stage Accelerator Below:
4.3 Million new business applications were filed in 2020, which was 54% higher than the previous year, according to Census Bureau data. We at Philly Startup Leaders have seen firsthand the world-changing ideas that have been born in our city, and are thrilled to introduce the next class of 10 companies, and the innovative entrepreneurs behind them, who have been accepted into the Founded in Philly Accelerator program!
Over the next 12 weeks, we look forward to guiding the cohort through the program as they work to grow their businesses; make new connections; solidify existing relationships ,and build their investor pipelines. We are thrilled to welcome back alumni from our idea-stage cohort to reinvigorate their business growth.
PSL takes an entrepreneurial, ‘startup-founder’ approach to designing our curriculum, and believe that iteration is key to success. We are happy to introduce new subject matters, an expanded speaker, mentor and investor network, and a hybrid approach to the curriculum.
As with all of our programs, we could not do it without the unending support of our community. We’ll introduce the speakers each week on our PSL Social Media, and in additional blog posts. Read on about the founders below:

A Look at What’s Ahead
This 12-week program meets weekly on Tuesday evenings, between September and December. Each week, we will welcome a new guest speaker, as well as a session mentor, to provide knowledge and share their lived experience as it relates to the curriculum. During this year’s program, we will also offer opportunities for the founders to implement and workshop in real time, virtually.
On Tuesday, October 19th, we will host the highly-anticipated Lightning Pitch Night, where founders will have the chance to present a 5-minute pitch to investors, board members, and the larger PSL Community. This event marks the halfway point through the Founded in Philly accelerator, and the startups are eager to practice their pitches and take away as much feedback and advice as possible.
We welcome investors to join in on our Pitch Night to provide valuable feedback. If you are interested in participating in this and other Pitch Nights, please click the button below to fill out the form, and we will be in touch with more details.
Next: Meet our Keynote Speakers & Mentors
Our keynote speakers donate their time and energy to support the founders each week with a presentation in their area of expertise. They provide insight, identify opportunities for progress, and guide founders as they move into the next phase in their business. In our next blog, we’ll introduce the keynote speakers and mentors who bring the curriculum to life.
