Just as the world was preparing for a roaring 2020, COVID-19 entered our lives. When March rolled around, the nationwide shut-down turned our world upside-down. When May came, the murder of George Floyd further uncovered the depths of systemic racism. We went from overactive but routine daily lives to a standstill, being quarantined, and witnessing a reckoning of generations of systemic racism. Work continued from home for some of us. Essential workers became even busier. Education continued from home. Family members became strangers. Protests dominated the news. And businesses suddenly had little or no revenue.
Internalizing the emotional rollercoaster began taking a toll on us all. Recognizing the stress, PIDC offered two webinars to address the emotional impact of the pandemic. After hosting the webinars it became obvious that a more long-term effect was happening that was not being addressed. Thus, this 6-part webinar series was born.
From October - March, PIDC is partnering with the Scattergood Foundation and Spectrum Health Services to host “Is It Just Me?” Paying Attention to Your Mental Health During the Time of COVID-19 and Civil Unrest, a series of monthly webinars that address specific wellness issues with a discussion led by healthcare professionals.
How we feel is real and more common than we’d like to admit, especially for business owners and practitioners trying to juggle work, employees, family, and constantly changing systems. Join us as we explore the impact of the pandemic and civil unrest on our health and gain insights on managing our emotional, mental and behavioral wellbeing.
