Changemakers in Action: An Expert Panel (6:00-6:45pm)
Philadelphia ranks as the poorest major American city. The move for communities to become more self-reliant in building prospering, equal and equitable societies has only increased over the past year with the deterioration of international trade relationships, the decline in economic and social coordination within the U.S., and the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic. How can Philadelphia leverage its unique strengths and resources to better provide all of its citizens the basic human rights of food, shelter, understanding, empathy and opportunity?
Come listen to three local experts, who are pioneers in the areas of housing, locally-sourced nutrition and university-government-community collaboration, discuss the challenges they see for Philadelphia and how we can start to overcome them. This session will provide valuable insight for current students, alumni and community leaders to help each of us be part of the change needed to create a more equitable and thriving Philadelphia.
