As I mentioned over the weekend, Greenphire is actively looking for an
experienced CTO.  I have included some high-level information about
Greenphire below along with detail on the duties/responsibilities of the

About Greenphire:

 

Greenphire is a 5 year-old payments technology company head quartered in
suburban Philadelphia.  The Company's technology is focused on providing
web-based payment automation solutions to pharmaceutical, medical device and
biotechnology companies along with contract research organizations,
independent research sites and large research universities. Greenphire has
experience significant growth over the past three years.  The Company is
currently 25 employees large with a development team of approximately 6
individuals.  The development team is planned to grow to approximately 18
individuals by the end of 2012 and the company is planned to grow to
approximately 50 employees within the same time frame.  Greenphire offers a
casual work environment with competitive compensation packages.  The Company
is very "flat" organizationally.  Greenphire is a venture backed company
with institutional investment from both FirstMark Capital

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for the successful execution of
technology development and deployment.  The CTO, along with a team of
Application Developers, leads the implementation of web applications,
planning for risk and growth.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.                  Anticipate and react to major technology changes to
ensure the maintenance of company leadership in the competitive landscape.

2.                  Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to
them for product development and company operations. 

3.                  Manage application development team, take a leadership
position in new product development, large initiative planning, and planning
resources and technology needs

4.                  Work closely with senior management team to develop and
execute business plans and define technology requirement

5.                  Develop a systematic and scalable approach for
identifying and evaluating innovative and enabling technologies

6.                  Lead the strategic technology solution approach for
major client or new business opportunities

7.                  Establish, communicate and monitor best practices to
ensure delivery excellence.

            8.                  Perform other duties, assignments, and/or
special projects as time or circumstances necessitate. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS NEEDED:

1.	A solutions professional and technology leader across development,
infrastructure and security

2.	Proven ability to design and implement product enhancements for
continuous improvement

3.	Ability to create a superior customer experience

4.	Strong management and leadership skills with  a proven method/plan
to qualify and train developers

5.	Expert in Linux/Unix/BSD environment

6.	Highly proficient in Python

7.	Authority in industry best-practices (e.g., W3C standards
compliance, testing, VCS, etc.)

8.	Expert in open source
